This quote has been used and reused and you can find it pretty much anywhere.
This photo was taken in an Indian Street food restaurant in Birmingham, a couple of years ago, nice food by the way, can't remember the name unfortunately, but that's me going off on a tangent and remembering with fondness days of travelling and eating in restaurants.... I digress....
Over the past few years I have been focussing more and more in making changes to myself and trying to change what I can, not matter how small.
In the process, I noticed that people I am attracting or I am attracted to, are the RIGHT people.
This does not mean that the "other" people are the WRONG ones, but simply that for the changes that I believe I can make, the RIGHT ones are popping out everywhere in my life.
And all of a sudden those ideas, those Don Quixote's quests that for so long I undertook on my own, a lot of the time failing miserably or simply running out of steam or ideas before the the change happened.
Today, I had two conversations about an idea that has been bubbling in my head and that I hope it will be of great help to the young people in my community and beyond.
Both people knew exactly what I was "dreaming" of and had very practical and helpful input to encourage me forward.
I guess what I am talking about is the WHY, knowing why I am doing what I am doing is helping the process.
And to go back to Gandhi's quote, whilst I am not planning to change the world - just yet - I'd like to think that starting from my small community, perhaps we can create small happy ripples.
"I watch the ripples change their size
But never leave the stream
Of warm impermanence
And so the days float through my eyes
But still the days seem the same
And these children that you spit on
As they try to change…
Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes
Turn and face the strange
Ch-ch-changes
Don't want to be a richer man" David Bowie
