Dee Newell grew up in a small village in Co.Galway.
Her love for swimming started as young girl where she found solace in the early morning pool training.
She joined the army after school and her current rank is Captain.
Dee enjoys challenges and after trying anything from weight lifting and body building, she completed Iron Man and triathlon race.
Her first love, swimming, is what she has been concentrating on more recently. She is a long distance swimmer with the Galway Bay, The Irish Sea and The English Channel already under her belt.
In February 2020 she’ll be part of an Exploration (along with Ger Kennedy, previous guest on the show) to Antartica where they’ll be swimming… ice swimming.
